IT IS FINISHED!
Today we skyped the courtroom in Arizona while our closest friends and family members sat in our living room with us and watched as we adopted our son Nathan Manuel Margiotta.
When discussing changing Manuel’s name he came to me and asked for James and I to choose a name. He said “That’s what parents do, they name their kids. So, name me.”
Years before James and I were trying to have children, I told James that I loved the name Nathan. I wanted our oldest son to have that name because I felt a deep connection to it. When we conceived Chase, I knew immediately in my heart his name was not to be Nathan.
When Manny (our nickname for him) asked us to name him I had the same thought all parents do at first. What the heck do you name your child? There are so many options! This time around we had a child who would give us his opinion on what we choose; he could argue against it or approve of it. That same day I was in my bathroom getting ready and the name Nathan came across my mind again. I reached for my phone and searched the meaning of that name. Nathan means “A Gift from God.”
Perfect. Nathan Manuel Margiotta is our gift from God. He will still go by Manuel and he is forever our gift from God.
Praise GOD From Whom ALL Blessings Flow!
AMEN!
Congratulations!! You are a blessing to him as he is to you. That’s the definition of family i think.
