This month I have been able to talk to some people about the finalization of the adoption for M.
As you know from the last update, the adoption agency in Arizona lost its contract with the state and all cases have been sent back to The Department of Child Safety. The state is working on setting up an Adoptions Division. We were recently told that Arizona will not finalize any adoptions for a couple of months. We were not given an exact date on when they will be finalizing adoptions because they themselves do not know. They suggested that we finalize in Ohio. Part of the reason we were going to finalize in Arizona is because they provide an Attorney for free and there is little cost to finalize. However, the main reason we wanted to Finalize there is because Arizona was not giving Ohio the required paperwork that Ohio needed to finalize here.
So for Arizona to suggest that we finalize in Ohio, they are going to have to send all the paperwork Ohio requires. If we can finalize in Ohio then we can finalize soon. Possibly March/April time, depending on how the courts work here. If Arizona will not send Ohio the paperwork then we have no clue how long it will take for Arizona to figure this out.
I am not losing hope that this will happen soon. I have said before that this is The Year of Promises and that God is going to fulfill this promise of the adoption and I am standing in faith knowing it will happen soon and that God will provide a miracle.
